A message from our Managing Director

Dear valued partner/client,

Here at Travel Counsellors we place a lot of emphasis on our people, and take a human, caring approach to everything we do.  During this moment in time that ethos has never been more important, relevant or present.  As the World Health Organization declared a pandemic in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19) last week, our principles have never been more essential.

Firstly, we are 100% focused on taking care of our people.  That statement extends to our colleagues, Travel Counsellors, supplier partners, and most importantly, our corporate clients.  Aside from the obvious, practical and essential steps we have taken to ensure our people are safe, including following government health advice, we have taken the following actions:


  • We have reorganised the business to operate in response to the crisis (similar to how we have managed through other unexpected global events such as the ash cloud in 2011).  This means that all resources are pointed towards delivering informative, relevant and actionable outcomes for all of our clients.
  • With support teams in seven countries across the globe we are running 24/7 operations, with a dedicated team monitoring the latest news and communicating new information to all of our Corporate Travel Counsellors and colleagues as the situation evolves.
  • We are using relevant advice and information from a combination of credible sources, including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), and our hotel and airline partners, to take pre-emptive action where we can to either repatriate travellers or find ways to support them during their journey.
  • Most airlines, hotel and car rental companies are taking a pragmatic approach and allowing existing bookings to be delayed to future dates. The same also applies to meetings/event space bookings.


Most importantly, we are here for you.  Your dedicated Travel Counsellor is working diligently on your behalf to support all of the above, and will continue to monitor all future bookings and pro-actively contact you to discuss the options that are best suited to you and your individual circumstances.
