My name is Sonia. I am a Travel Counsellor based in the wonderful city of Boksburg. I was born in Boksburg and did my entire schooling in this quaint and quiet city. I completed a one year diploma course in advanced travel and tourism at Birnam Business College in Johannesburg in the year 1990.

My first job in the travel industry dates back to the year 1991, where I worked for a wonderful travel company named MTA Milucha Travel, also based in Boksburg. I worked at my first job for approximately 10 years and gained a lot of experience. I started as a junior travel consultant and worked myself up to becoming a senior travel consultant.

Subsequently I worked for various retail travel agencies where I gained further experience and attended various courses like fares and ticketing, Galileo (Reservations system) and Bank settlement plan. I recently did extensive training on the Travel Counsellors intranet booking system, contact centre and ground breaking dynamic packaging system called Phenix, thus gaining further knowledge.

I was awarded certificates for all these courses that I did. Overall I have 25 years of experience in this very competitive, but yet interesting and rewarding industry.

Throughout my years in the travel Industry I had the opportunity of dealing with various corporate clients. This involved working under pressure at times, meeting deadlines, doing a lot of changes to bookings and much more. I performed all these tasks to the best of my ability and always ensured that my corporate clients had a hassle free and stress free business trip. I always went out of my way to help my clients and if it meant meeting them at the airport to hand them their passport, because we only obtained the client’s visa on the day of their departure, I would be there at the airport with his passport and visa, thus saving him time. It’s this added service that I believe I can offer my corporate clients that will definitely put a smile on their faces.
