Good day, my name is Mercia and I am a Business Travel Counsellor.

I live in Bloemfontein. I joined the travel industry shortly after completing my BA (Communications) degree at the University of the Free State. I have spent my entire professional career in the travel environment and love working with people.

I have been fortunate to receive training ranging from; the technical qualifications like Fares Courses, Focal Point and Galileo to more advanced techniques of customer relationship management. I’ve lectured in Travel and Tourism at the University of the Free State and Damelin College. My exposure has convinced me to focus on the value adds of each proposition and that you’re only as good as your last booking! As a junior and intermediate travel consultant for 7 years and a senior international consultant for a further 5 years, I have gained extensive knowledge of both the domestic and international travel market.

Thereafter and as a former business sales and key accounts executive for a national travel management company, I have been involved in servicing large corporate accounts and I have been exposed to the world of competitive bidding, proudly rising to the rank of Salesperson of the Year in 2008. While driving the added value, I am passionate about relationships and drawing closer to my clients through event hosting and key accounts management.

Travel Counsellors (Pty) Ltd is accredited to IATA. We have a BEE accreditation.
