Working in travel since 1993, I bring more than 30 years of industry experience to every trip I design. I launched my Travel Counsellors business in February 2020 and today it delivers an annual turnover of more than £2 million. We are now a team of six specialists supporting our corporate clients, with a clear strategy to double this over the next two years. With our expanding team, we also have dedicated colleagues who support our clients with their leisure holidays, ensuring the same high standard of care across both business and personal travel.
My decision to become a Travel Counsellor was driven by a desire to build long-term, trusted relationships with my clients. By investing time to understand each organisation’s culture, traveller preferences and priorities, I can recommend and implement travel solutions that are aligned with their objectives. The most rewarding aspect of my role is interpreting what a client truly needs, then using my experience and insight to deliver it efficiently and effectively.
For corporate travellers, this can range from designing complex multi-sector itineraries and managing tight schedules, to ensuring policy compliance while still prioritising traveller wellbeing. Many of our clients now choose a blended solution: their travellers can book simple point-to-point trips online, while my team and I are on hand to manage the more complex, high-touch itineraries and provide proactive support. This gives organisations the best of both worlds: the efficiency of online booking, combined with the reassurance of an experienced team who know their business and their travellers personally.
Alongside this, we provide detailed management information and reporting, giving our clients clear visibility of their travel spend, booking patterns and traveller behaviour. These insights help drive better decision-making, support duty of care, highlight opportunities for cost savings and policy refinement, and ultimately ensure that every travel pound is working harder for the business.
For leisure clients, it might be using first-hand knowledge to recommend a particular seafront restaurant because I know they serve an exceptional steak. These kinds of tailored recommendations and considered details are not something an online booking engine can replicate, and they are central to how I work.
I am committed to providing a high-touch, responsive and personal service, acting as a single, accountable point of contact for all your travel needs. This is supported by my experienced team and a 24-hour UK-based duty office, so you have access to assistance whenever you need it, including outside core business hours. Whether it is last-minute changes, disruption on the day of travel or managing complex group movements, you will always have experienced professionals ready to support you.
