I’m Matt Connolly, an independent Corporate Travel Counsellor based in Portslade to the west of Brighton. I live here with my partner, who’s a primary school teacher, and our two teenage sons.

I’m new to Travel Counsellors, but I bring over 23 years of corporate travel experience. I’ve looked after businesses with annual travel spends from £50,000 right up to publicly listed, shareholder-owned companies investing more than £1.5 million a year in travel. That breadth means I’m as comfortable supporting growing SMEs as I am working with complex, multi-stakeholder travel programmes.

Before moving into travel, I worked in film and television at Pinewood Studios and ITV London Studios which sharpened my skills in time management, problem solving and managing expectations – all of which now go into making sure your travel runs smoothly, even when plans change.

I firmly believe that people want to deal with people. When you work with me, you’ll have one dedicated point of contact who will get to know you, your travellers and your business. I’m always happy to jump on a call to talk through ideas or work out the best approach to a trip – in my experience, voicing it aloud is often the quickest way to the right solution.

Outside of work I’m a keen runner and have completed seven marathons so far, most recently the 2026 London Marathon in 3 hours 28 minutes. The focus and discipline that goes into training are the same qualities I bring to managing your travel: preparation, attention to detail and seeing things through from start to finish.
